Nobody likes a bully, but Meline Kevorkian is actually doing something about it.

Kevorkian, the associate dean of master's programs at Nova Southeastern University's Fischler School of Education and Human Services, is bringing the Bullying Prevention Association's Best Practices conference to NSU this fall. She is also starting a certificate program for educators called "School Safety and Violence Prevention" - the first of its kind in Florida.

Kevorkian also writes a bi-weekly column in the Miami Herald to educate parents about educational and behavioral issues. In a way, Kevorkian even wrote the book on bullying prevention: She has authored "Preventing Bullying: Helping Kids Form Positive Relationships," among other books.

But championing the little guy doesn't stop when Kevorkian leaves the office. She has two young sons at home.
